Services for Melvin Stewart Jr., of Jackson, formerly ofBrookhaven, are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Lake-Over MemorialFuneral Home Chapel, 1525 Beasley Road, Jackson, with burial inVeteran Autumn Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stewart, 58, died Feb. 1, 2006, at his residence.

He was a disabled veteran. He served in the Army. He was a 1965graduate of Alexander High School.

Preceding him in death was his father, Melvin Stewart Sr.; and asister, Myrtle M. Smith.

Survivors are his mother, Ossie M. Stewart, of Brookhaven; hiswife, Esther Stewart, of Jackson; his daughters, Galene Stewart, ofJackson, Crystal Stewart, of Chicago; his son, Melvin Stewart III,of Chicago; his sisters, Minyon and her husband, Arthur Coleman, ofWesson, Myrtis B. Smith, of Brookhaven and Montina and her husbandthe Rev. Danny Tripplet, of Mendenhall; his brothers, MarvinStewart, of Chicago, Mackie O. Stewart and Malcolm Stewart and hiswife, Barbara, all of Brookhaven; and eight grandchildren.
