Cecil Murphey Bone

Services for Cecil Murphey Bone, of Clearwater, Fla., are 2 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 25 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in NewSalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.

Visitation is Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bone, 90, died Feb. 21, 2006, at Westchester Gardens NursingHome in Clearwater. He was born on Feb. 10, 1916, to HinesNathaniel Bone and Martha Hitt Bone.

He was a retired state trooper with the Louisiana State Police.He served his country during World War II in the Air Force. He wasa member of New Salem Baptist Church in McCall Creek, and a Masonand Scottish Rite Shriner.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, FredBone.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel Bone, of Oldsmar, Fla.; his son,Norman Bone, of New Port Richey, Fla.; and his grandchildren,Norman Bone II, Mark Bone and Robert Bone.

Hilda Rawls Greer

Hilda Rawls Greer, 91, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died on Sunday,Feb. 19, 2006, in Arlington, Texas. Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Homein Grand Prairie was in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Ruth and had been a resident of Grand Prairiesince 1953.

She had worked at Carnival Food Store, Tyco Insurance, Ellen’sDress Shop, White Advertising, all of Grand Prairie, and severalothers.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Amos Shell Greer Sr.,who died in November 2005.

Survivors are her son, Amos Greer Jr. and his wife, Nancy Greer,of Grand Prairie; her daughter, Linda Smith and her husband, LesSmith, of Poway, Calif.; her grandchildren, Kay Lynn, Terry, Elisaand Amanda; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephewsand extended family.

Lessie Mae Catt Russell

Services for Lessie Mae Catt Russell, of Jackson, formerly ofLawrence County, are 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at Wilson Funeral Homewith burial in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Russell, 92, died Feb. 21, 2006, at St. Dominic/JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born on Dec. 2, 1913, to Ilance Catt andNora Rutland Catt.

She was a hardworking homemaker and helped her husband inanything that needed to be done. She also worked as a bar tackseamstress for 12 years with Edward Hymand Manufacturing Co., inPrentiss. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, EthanAllen Russell; her grandsons, David and Donnie McEwen; herbrothers, Prentis, Preston and Hollis Catt; her sisters, Elsa Ward,Isabelle Neal and Myrtis Lambert; and several wonderful brothers-and sisters-in-law.

Survivors are her daughter, Eloise McEwen and her husband, Dr.Fred McEwen, of Jackson; her brother Earl Catt, of Monticello; andher grandson, Fred McEwen III.
