Dolly Ann Arnold Carney

Services for Dolly Ann Arnold Carney, of Monticello, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Feb. 23 at Wilson Funeral Home with burial in TiltonCemetery.

Visitation is today from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carney, 70, died Feb. 20, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on July 7, 1935.

She was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, HerbertCarney.

Survivors are her sons, Herbert D. Carney and James E. Carney,both of Columbia, Ohio; her brother, Bud Arnold, of Florida; hersisters, Betty Arnold, of Florida, and Norma Carpenter, of WestVirginia; and four grandchildren.

Alton Clanton

Memorial services for Alton Clanton, of Bossier City, La.,formerly of Wesson, are 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at The KingdomHall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Bossier City. Boone’s Funeral Homeof Bossier City is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Clanton, 88, died Feb. 18, 2006, at Overton Brooks VeteransAffairs Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He was born on June 3,1917, to James A. Clanton and Eunice Dungan Clanton.

He was an electrician for 20 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, foursisters and one daughter, Ann Clanton Bordelon.

Survivors are his sons, David Clanton, of Mize, James L. “Skip”Clanton, of Deville, La.; his daughters, Sue Clanton Miner, ofDeville, and Jenny Clanton Davison, of Pollock, La.; one brother,Russell Clanton, of Moss Point; one sister, Trudy Martin, ofMandeville, La.; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.

Victor M. “Butch” Grice

Services for Victor M. “Butch” Grice, of Grapevine, Texas,formerly of Brandon, are 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at the EpiscopalChurch of the Redeemer. Interment will be a private service forfamily only. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Grice, 64, died Feb. 15, 2006, of complications followingheart surgery at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was born inBrookhaven on Feb. 17, 1941, to Luther C. and Esther B. Grice.

Prior to moving to Grapevine, he was vice president and co-ownerof Dixie Rubber Stamp and Seal Co., of Jackson, together with hisbusiness partner and friend, the late C. Coleman Frye Jr. He wasemployed as an account executive with DFW Signs of Keller, Texas,at the time of his death. During his years in Jackson, Mr. Gricewas a member of the Downtown Rotary Club, served as president ofthe Rankin County Boys Club, and was president of the NorthwestRankin Athletic Association during which time he was instrumentalin the completion of the first athletic field house.

He was a parishioner of St. Vincent’s Cathedral Church inBedford, Texas. He was a former member of St. Stephens ReformedEpiscopal Church and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church inBrandon.

Preceding him in death were his beloved mother and father, andhis father-in-law W.P. Dickey Sr.

Survivors are his loving wife of 43 years, Brenda Dickey, ofGrapevine; his son, Bradley Stephen Grice, of Ridgeland; hisdaughter and son-in-law, Lisa and David Crawford, of Colleyville,Texas; and his four grandchildren, Madeleine Victoria “Maddie”Crawford, Sarah Catherine Crawford, Anna Grace Crawford and JacksonDavid Crawford, who were the joy of his life; his mother-in-law,Laurie W. Dickey, of Brookhaven. Other survivors are hisbrother-in-law and wife, Sonny and Martha Dickey, of Meadville;sister-in-law and husband, Marilyn and Johnny Smith, of Brookhaven;his aunt Ollie Kyzar and husband, the Rev. Reese Kyzar, of RollingFork; and four very dear cousins, V.J. Mullen and wife Yvonne, ofThe Woodlands, Texas, Cora Herring, of Spring, Texas, Louis Mullenand wife Pat, of Brookhaven, and Annie Martin Hale and husband Jim,of Kansas City, Mo.; together with numerous nieces and nephews.

Hilda Rae Coon Norton

Services for Hilda Rae Coon Norton, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Feb. 23 at Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Norton, 69, died Feb. 21, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn to Stanley Joe Coon and Minnie Mae Smith Coon.

She was a a homemaker. She had been employed with Southern Bell,Stahl Urban Manufacturing Co. and Nannie Nursery. She was a memberof Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday schooland was a nursery worker.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband of 49 years, John Norton, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Dale Norton and wife Debbie, of Brookhaven;her daughters, Gail Magee, of Brookhaven, and Linda Booth andhusband Paul, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and her grandchildren, DanielleWilson, of Tuscaloosa, Jessica Jordan and husband Landon, WillNorton and Sawyer Smith, all of Brookhaven.
