Help sought in investigation

Investigators with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department andthe District Attorney’s office are asking for the public’s help inobtaining information in an ongoing investigation.

Fourteenth Circuit Court District Attorney Investigator PhillipO’Brien said he hopes someone in the general public will comeforward with information about a seamstress, or an item that mayhave been sewn with purple-colored fleece.

“The item could be a housecoat, baby blanket or any other itemmade by a private seamstress in Lincoln County,” O’Brien said. “Wewould like to have that person contact us.”

The item is an important in an ongoing investigation, O’Briensaid. The fleece would have been purchased and the item madebetween October 2002 and March 2004.

“It would be to our advantage to find it,” he said.

O’Brien couldn’t release any further information in the ongoinginvestigation but indicated it was for a serious crime.
