Hazlehurst man killed in 2 motorcycle, car collision

A Hazlehurst man was killed and two others injured in a head-oncollision involving a passing car and two motorcycles on Highway 51Friday, according to law enforcement officials.

His brother, Dennis Allen, 45, of Hazlehurst, who was alsoriding a motorcycle, was transported by ambulance to King’sDaughters Medical Center. He was later transferred to theUniversity of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, said StaffSgt. Rod Crawford, public affairs officer for Mississippi HighwaySafety Patrol Troop M.

Dennis Allen was listed in stable condition Saturday, accordingto McMorris, who spoke to the family that morning.

Roger Keys, 73, of Wesson, was transported by ambulance to KDMC,Crawford said. The hospital did not provide information on Keys’condition Saturday.

According to Crawford, Keys was traveling northbound on Highway51 about three miles north of Brookhaven around 2:30 p.m. Friday ina 1992 Plymouth passenger car. He attempted to pass anothernorthbound vehicle, Crawford said, and struck the two motorcyclesin a head-on collision in the southbound lane.
