Services for Florence Murray Monroe, of McCall Creek, are 10a.m. Friday, March 10, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m., with Rosary Service at 7p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Monroe, 94, died March 2, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. She was born in New York on Aug. 12, 1911,to John F. Murray and Alice Conniff Murray.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann’s CatholicChurch in Meadville.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her threesisters.

Survivors are her husband, Charles H. Monroe Sr., of McCallCreek; her sons, John William Monroe of Palo Alto, Calif., andCharles H. Monroe Jr., of Boston, Mass.; her daughter, Alice MonroeMethvien, of McCall Creek; her grandchildren, John W. Monroe, ofIowa, April B. Monroe, of Boston, Yancy W. Methvien, of Jackson,Charles Monroe, of London, England, and Zachary Monroe, ofBoston.

Elizabeth McBurney

Memorial services for Elizabeth McBurney, of Brookhaven, will beheld in Pittsfield, Mass. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Ms. McBurney, 52, died March 4, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on July 1, 1953, to Agnes Soutier.

She was a homemaker, and a graduate of Pittsfield High School.She was a member of the Catholic faith.

Preceding her in death was her mother; her granddaughter,Elizabeth Soutier; and her stepsister, Marie Wendell.

Survivors are her faithful companion, Johnnie B. Hudson Jr., ofBrookhaven; her stepfather, Rene Wendell Sr., of Pittsfield; herdaughter, Kathleen Martinelli, of Pittsfield; her brothers, AlfredWendell and Rene Wendell, both of Pittsfield; her stepbrother,William Wendell, of Pittsfield; her stepsisters, Corinne Mays, ofPittsfield; the entire Hudson and Brooks Families of Brookhaven;one grandchild; and eight nieces and nephews.

Geraldine Gaston McLaurin

Services for Geraldine Gaston McLaurin, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Saturday, March 11, at Second Baptist M.B. Church with burialin Carver Heights Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McLaurin, 80, died March 3, 2006, at Cottage Grove NursingHome in Jackson. She was born on Aug. 2, 1925, to Will Gaston andKatie Kelly Gaston.

She was retired from her job as head cook at Lindsey HeadstartCenter. She was a member of Second Baptist M.B. Church, where shewas a dedicated usher and hard worker in church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sisters, Janie MaeKelly, Lula Mae Banks and Lucretia McArthur; and her brothers, J.W.Gaston and Minyon Gaston.

Survivors are her sons, Louis McLaurin and his wife, Gloria, ofJackson, Irby McLaurin and his wife, Phyllis, of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Earlene Washington and her husband, Ralph, of Jackson;her sister, Luvenia Jackson, of Fayette; her grandchildren,Nicholas McLaurin and Rai Williams, both of Jackson, Dr. LaTonyaWashington, of Little Rock, Ark., Kimberly Washington, of Memphis,Tenn., and Jasmine Washington, of Jackson; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
