ACCS dumps BA Cougars

NATCHEZ — Timmy Foster pitched a 12-strikeout, 5-hitter,leading the Adams County Christian School Rebels to a 6-3 Saturdaywin over the Brookhaven Academy Cougars. Foster allowed just 1 walkin the District 4-AA contest.
The Rebels jumped on BA starting pitcher Corey Dickerson for 4runs in the bottom of the first inning. Dickerson walked 2 battersbefore Ben McKinney replaced him in the second inning. McKinneywent 3 innings, allowed 2 hits, 1 walk and 1 unearned run.
Jonathan White relieved McKinney in the fifth. He allowed 1earned run on 2 hits and walked 1. Paul Davis pitched the sixthinning and fanned 1.
At the plate, shortstop Jeremy Winborne delivered a 2-RBI singlefor the Cougars in the top of the sixth. Steven Covington, RyanVanderslice, Davis and Winborne also hit safely.
The Rebels were led by C.J. Wright who doubled, and Matt Barneswho singles twice. Cole Bradford and Brian Sanderson also hitsafely.
Coach Stephen Cooksey’s Cougars resume play Monday, at Ferriday,La., meeting the Huntington Hounds. Game time is 4:30 for the JVand 6:30 for the varsity.
On Tuesday, BA plays at Natchez Trinity, starting at 1 p.m. TheCougars host Trinity Wednesday, starting at 1 p.m. with a JVgame.
