Services for Margie Newman Day, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today,March 12, 2006, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until thetime of the service.

Mrs. Day, 84, died March 10, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Oct. 14, 1921, to John F. Newman and WinnieDiamond Newman.

She was retired from TG&Y. She was a graduate of BrookhavenHigh School. She was a member of Hawkins Chapel United MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, StanleyDay, James Whittle Hare, John H. Whittington Sr.; her brother,Silas Newman; and her sister, Bonita N. Watkins.

Survivors are her sons, Frank T. Whittington, of Brandon, JohnH. Whittington Jr., of Raleigh, N.C., and Jesse E. Whittington, ofAugusta, S.C.; her daughter, Beverly Hare Moreton, of Brookhaven;her stepbrother, Herman Rice, of Brookhaven; her six grandchildren;two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
