James Lovey Arnold
Services for James Lovey Arnold, of Meadville, are 11 a.m.Saturday, March 25, at Sarepta Baptist Church in East Lincolncommunity with burial in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Homein Meadville is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Arnold, 83, died March 23, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Sept. 18, 1922, to Chrisman H. Arnold andAda Delaney Arnold.
He was a driller with Delta Marine Drilling Company and afarmer. He was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church in FranklinCounty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WorldWar II.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, BessieBankston Arnold; his brothers, Bluford Arnold, Bill Arnold, CordellArnold, Corban Arnold and C.H. Arnold; and his sister, LottiePrather.
Survivors are his daughters, Peggy McLemore, of Port Gibson,Cathy Clark, of Laurel, Barbara Pickle, of Clinton, CherylEmfinger, of Brookhaven, and Kim Richards, of Bartlett, Tenn.; hisbrother, Buster Arnold, of Meadville; his sister, Ruby LeeEmfinger, of Franklin, La.; and his grandchildren, BethanyMcLemore, Meredith McLemore, Sam McLemore, Lori Johnson, AllieClark, James Pickle, Joseph Pickle, Kayla Emfinger and AmandaEmfinger.
Cecil Delaughter Sr.
Services for Cecil Delaughter Sr., of Clayton, La., were todayat Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, La., with burial in the UnionBaptist Church Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at3 p.m. The Revs. Howard Killingsworth and Tim Lawrence are incharge of services.
Mr. Delaughter, 69, died March 22, 2006, in Ferriday. He wasborn in Brookhaven on Sept. 28, 1936, to Jesse Delaughter andBennie Ezell Delaughter.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, TimothyDelaughter; his brothers, A.J., J.D. Jesse Edward and LeslieDelaughter; and his sister, Jewell Delaughter.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Delaughter, of Clayton; hisdaughters, Belinda Russell and husband Ricky, of Springfield, Mo.,and Rebecca Clark and husband, Brian, of Florence; his sons, CecilDelaughter Jr. and wife, Kerry, of Youngsville, La., Patrick Guinand wife, Rhonda, of Ardmore, Okla., and Waylon Jones and wife,Jennifer, of West Monroe, La.; his 15 grandchildren; his sevengreat-grandchildren; and Betty Jean Delaughter.
Pallbearers are Jason and Daniel Russell, Cecil James DelaughterIII, Larry Nichols, Charles Jordan and Sammy Joe Miller.
Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Russell, Cecil Delaughter Jr.,Waylon Jones, Patrick Guin and Sammy Miller.
Joseph B. Spring
Services for Joseph B. Spring, of Smithdale, are 11 a.m.Saturday, March 25, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Spring, 78, died March 23, 2006, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born in New Orleans, La., on July9, 1927, to Walter and Amazon Spring.
He was retired from International Paper Company, of Natchez,after many years. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church,where he served as a deacon and chairman of the Building andGrounds Committee. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy. He was anactive member of Lakeview Golf Course in Summit.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, William,Elwin, Floyd, George, Claude and Dekalb Spring; and his sisters,Lilly Dillon, Mavis Dillon, Elizabeth Reilly and MarthaCallender.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Nellie Joyce Smith Spring;his sons, Michael Spring and his wife Polly, and Phillip Spring andhis wife Pam, all of Smithdale; his grandchildren, Jessica S.Freeman and husband Jeff, of Liberty, Clint Spring, Conner Springand his fiancee, Amber Murray, and Shannon Spring, all ofSmithdale; his great-granddaughter, Jolie Freeman, of Liberty; andhis close friend, Louann Madison and husband, Fred, ofSmithdale.
Pallbearers are Gary Steele, Stan Hilton, Ronnie Perry, LeeDunnam, Randy Dickerson and Terry Burris.
Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Mt. Olive Baptist Churchand lifelong friend, Kenneth Allred.
Helen Martin
Services for Helen Martin, of Hazlehurst, are 2 p.m. Saturday,March 25, at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with burialin the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is today at the church from 5 p.m. until the time ofthe service on Saturday.
Mrs. Martin, 77, died March 23, 2006, at Pine Crest LivingCenter. She was born on May 26, 1928.
