Services for Versie L. Durr, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today,March 28, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burial in BigSprings Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is today from 9 a.m. until the time of the service atthe funeral home.

Mr. Durr, 72, died March 26, 2006, at his residence. He was bornon April 5, 1933, to Versie P. Durr and Artie Inez Case Durr.

He was a retired truck driver.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Lorain Durr, of Brookhaven; hisson, the Rev. Dean Durr, of Brookhaven; his daughters, Amy DurrHenderson, of Ohio, and Sherry Durr Ferrel, of Brookhaven; his ninegrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Margie McCaffrey Smith

Services for Margie McCaffrey Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.today, March 28, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mrs. Smith, 85, died March 26, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 4, 1921, to Jim J.McCaffrey and Frances Deer McCaffrey.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Arlington BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, VernonWillie Smith.

Survivors are her brother, L.W. “Dub” McCaffrey, of BogueChitto; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Virginia Thomas

Services for Virginia Thomas, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, March 30, at Williams Mortuary with burial in HillcrestCemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Thomas, 86, died March 24, 2006, at Haven Hall Nursing CareCenter. She was born in Baton Rouge, La., on April 15, 1919, toJohn Young and Regina Walker.

She was retired.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and hersisters, Mable Walker and Margaret Young.

Survivors are her stepmother, Lillian Young, of Los Angeles,Calif.; her sisters, Linda Buie, of Brookhaven, and Margie Haynes,of Los Angeles; her brothers, Joseph Young and James Young, both ofBrookhaven, and John Young, of Los Angeles; and a host of nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.
