Services for Hugh Brister, of Jayess, are 2 p.m. Monday, April10, at Tilton United Methodist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m., and Monday from noon until2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Brister, 81, died April 7, 2006, at his home in Jayess. Hewas born in Mississippi on August 24, 1924, to Hulon D. Brister andFlora Sistrunk Brister.
He was a former oil field worker for 20 years and a farmer. Hewas retired from the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Department. He was amember of Tilton United Methodist Church. He was also a veteran ofthe Marine Corp. with service in World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, PatriciaCaul; his sisters, Edith Brister, Myrtle Brister, Ethel Lambert,Cecil Speights and Florine Lawrence; his brothers, Howard Brister,Cub Brister, and Everett Brister; his son-in-law, Mack Mitchell;and his great-grandson, Ty Brister.
Survivors are his wife, Juda Pat Brister, of Jayess; his sons,Tony Brister and his wife, Joy, Doug Brister and his wife, Dawn,and Sandy Brister and his wife, Kim, all of Jayess; his daughter,Karen Mitchell, of Jayess; his sister, Aline Blackwell, of Jayess;his grandchildren, Mitch Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell, Mark Brister,Jason Brister, Will Brister, Hunter Brister, Milly Hancock, SusanGuess, Lisa Sartin, Bridget Case, Tedra Brister, Brandy Brister andCharity Nace; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Mitchell, CamrynMitchell, Brooke Nelson, Shelby Mitchell, Hayze Hancock, TannerHancock, Dylan Hancock, Kylee Hancock, Kristen Guess, Carmen Guess,Diana Brister, Allie Brister, Kyle Brister, Jasee Brister, ZackVincelli, Laken Nace, Peyton Nace, Jadan Vincelli; and hisgreat-great-grandchild, Taylor Daughdrill.
