BA wallops Bowling Green

FRANKLINTON, La. — Brookhaven Academy senior pitcher Paul Davisdoubled twice and singled twice to help the Cougars to a 15-7District 4-AA win over the Bowling Green School Buccaneers Tuesdaynight.

On the mound, Davis (5-0) fanned 7 batters, walked 2 and allowed4 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits for the win. Corey Dickerson worked theseventh inning with 3 runs (2 earned) allowed on 1 hit, 3strikeouts and 1 walk.

The Cougars, coached by Stephen Cooksey, improved to 16-2 on theseason and 9-1 in district play. Brookhaven clinched the distrcittitle with the win.

Brian Barber absorbed the loss. Also seeing action were LeeHunt, Cody Hughes and Nick Goings.

Contributing to the Brookhaven win with a home run and a doublewas Dickerson. Hitting a homer apiece were Steven Covington andKeith Franklin. Jeremy Winborne and Kolby Byrd ripped two singlesapiece. Doubling was Ryan Vanderslice. Seth Davis singled.
