Resurrection reason for Easter celebration

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, thewomen took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. Theyfound the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered,they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus – Luke 24:1-3

On this Easter morning, Christians around the worldcelebrate the fulfilled prophecy of Jesus’ Resurrection.

At Christmas, we remember the birth of the most wondrousgift we could ever receive. Today, the prophecy comes full circleas death’s darkness turns to light in the glory of a risensavior.

Through His trial, suffering and death on the cross, Jesuspaid the price for our sins to be forgiven so that we may haveeternal life through Him.

While some believe Easter – like other holidays – has becomefar too commercialized, we must never forget the sacrifice Jesusmade on our behalf and the true reason for our celebrationtoday.

By our faith, we may join those early disciples in proudlyproclaiming, “He is risen!”
