Family services for Alice Hope Shirley, of Yuba City, Calif.,have been held. Chapel of the Twin Cities Funeral Home in Yuba Citywas in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Shirley, 75, died April 30, 2006, at Rideout MemorialHospital in Marysville, Calif. She was born in Amite, La., on Sept.25, 1930. She was a resident of Brookhaven for 20 years and of YubaCity for 10 years.

She was a retired licensed practical nurse.

Survivors are her husband of 57 years, Vernon E. Shirley, ofYuba City; her son, Glenn E. Shirley, of Mississippi; her daughter,Nora S. Hogan, of Yuba City; her sisters, Aimee Theobald, ofLexington, Ky., and Joanna Gualtier, of Tooele, Utah; her threegrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
