Panther netters tied for 3rd in state fianls

The Brookhaven High Panther tennis team finished tied for thirdwith Laurel in the state tournament with 7 team points apiece.Taking first place was Ridgeland with 11 points followed by Oxfordwith 9.
The Panthers won all their opening round matches for 1 pointeach player.
Brookhaven’s boys doubles team of Elliott Warren and Mason Dixonand girls doubles duo of Rachel Montalvo and Lydia Warren advancedthe farthest, making it to the semifinals.
Brookhaven members advancing to the quarterfinals were LK Kelly,boys singles; Hannah Driskell, girls singles; Lydia Warren andRachel Montalvo, girls doubles and G’Rae Rainer and Scott Warnock,mixed doubles.
The Brookhaven team is coached by David Misner.
Winning every opening match, bhs got a point from every memberon the squad. Boys and girls doubles went on to post victories inthe next round before being eliminated in the semis, each by the #1seed.
