Larry L. ‘Baby Tuck’ Chism
Services for Larry L. “Baby Tuck” Chism, of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home with burial inHopewell Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.
Visitation is Tuesday from noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Mr. Chism, 47, died May 18, 2006, at his residence. He was bornon Feb. 22, 1959, to Leon Chism Sr., and Edna Mae Buie Chism.
He was employed with Columbus Lumber Company (South Plant) inBrookhaven.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, RobertLee Buie, Leon Chism Jr., Lee Edward Chism and Jimmy Lee Chism; andhis sisters, Nora Mae Buie and Bertha Lee.
Survivors are his son, Larry Lee Smith, of Miami, Fla.; hisdaughter, Catina Brown Haynes, of Monticello; his stepdaughter,Nataska Brown, of Monticello; his brother, Ossie Chism, of Chicago,Ill.; his sisters, Judith Magee and Cora Walker, both ofBrookhaven; and his five grandchildren.
LJ ‘Bo’ Eley
Services for LJ “Bo” Eley, of Puyallup, Wash., are 11 a.m.Tuesday, May 23, at New Jerusalem M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is today from noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Mr. Eley, 55, died May 17, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital inPuyallup. He was born on Sept. 30, 1950, to Henry Eley Sr., andCelestine Eley.
He was employed in warehouse distribution with Coastal PacificFoods. He was a veteran of the Army.
Preceding him in death were his father; his brother, Lee AllenEley; and his sister, Earnestine Eley Knight.
Survivors are his mother, Celestine Eley, of Brookhaven; hisson, Fred Humphery, of Milwaukee, Wis.; his daughter, Martina Eley,of Milwaukee; his brother, Henry Eley Jr., of Montezuma, Ga.; hissisters, Diane Eley Banks and Helen Eley Irvin, both of Brookhaven,Patricia Eley Hayes, of Bakersfield, Calif., Dorothy Eley Carter,of Puyallup, Theresa Eley, of Spanaway, Wash., and Henrean Simmons,of Kansas City, Kan.
Dolly Watts Jolly
Services for Dolly Watts Jolly, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.Friday, May 19, at Friendship Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge ofarrangements.
Mrs. Jolly, 90, died May 17, 2006, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. She was born on Sept. 22, 1915, to Charlie Watts and AnnieSmith Watts.
She was retired from Stahl Urban Company. She was a member ofFriendship Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joe Jolly;her brothers, Ira Watts, Zollie Watts and Burton Watts; hersisters, Clara Smith, Ruby Smith, Verdie Watts and Katie Watts.
She is survived by her sister, Ivy Nettles, of Brookhaven; and ahost of nieces and nephews.
Margaret Rhodes
Services for Margaret Rhodes, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Tuesday, May 23, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rhodes, 68, died May 21, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Oct. 25, 1937, to Reginald Dobbins and MayElizabeth Bonner Dobbins.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith PentecostalChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her sister, PaulineCoody, of Toxey, Ala.
Survivors are her husband of 53 years, John C. Rhodes; her sons,Jack Rhodes and wife Gail, of Duckhill, and Dick Rhodes and wifeGloria, of Seagoville, Texas; her daughters, JoAnn Armour andcompanion Robert Drew, of Gulf Breeze, Ala., Margaret Glass andhusband Ray, of Brookhaven, and Elaine Overton and husband David,of Jackson. Ala.; her sister, Lavaughn Sonnier, of Toxey; her ninegrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of niecesand nephews.
