Services for Judge Cooper “JC” Jointer, of Wesson, are 1 p.m.Sunday, May 28, at Little Rock M.B. Church in Wesson with burial inthe church cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.
Visitation is Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome, with family present from 7 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Jointer, 86, died May 23, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on Nov. 14, 1919, to Thomas Jointer and Mamie CooperJointer.
He attended Alexander High School in Brookhaven and AlcornA&M in Lorman. He was retired from his job with Chrysler inIndianapolis, Ind. He served in the Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughters, Glendaand Katie; and his sisters, Margie and Clara.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Alice Mitchell Jointer, of Wesson;his sons, Robert Jointer and Richard Jointer, both of Indianapolis;his daughters, Hazel Akinsanya and Debra Wilburn, both ofIndianapolis; his brothers, Willie D. Jointer, of Indianapolis, andthe Rev. Burgess Jointer, of Hazlehurst; his sisters, MargaretRead, of Gary, Ind., Alice P. Jointer and Bertha Mae Bowman, bothof Wesson, Mary C. Hall, of Indianapolis, Helen Wright, of Detroit,Mich., Ella Mae Demoss and Louise Brown, both of Indianapolis; andhis 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
