Services for Mamie Ola Cupit Jackson, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m.Sunday, June 4, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial at 3p.m. today, June 7, in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge,Ga.

Mrs. Jackson, 70, died June 2, 2006, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born in Caseyville on June 3, 1935, toJohn Hiram Cupit and Corene Smith Cupit.

She was retired from her job as manager with the Holiday Inn inBrookhaven. She was a member of Mallalieu United MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, AndrewJames Jackson Sr.; her brother, James “Bud” Cupit; and her sister,Sarah Musick.

Survivors are her son, Andrew James Jackson Jr., and his wife,Lisa Rials Jackson, of Brookhaven; her daughters, Elaine JacksonSpence, of Roswell, Ga., and Victoria Jackson Crew and her husbandChris, of Dallas, Texas; her brothers, John Henry Cupit, of PortGibson, Wallace Cupit, of Brookhaven, and Charles “Pete” Cupit, ofHazlehurst; her sisters, Catherine Sanders, of Vicksburg, and LolaWalter, of Natchez; her grandchildren, Shawn Spence, of Roswell,Christy Jackson Kramer and her husband Chris, of Brookhaven, andMelissa Jackson, of Brookhaven; and her great-grandchildren, TaylorKestner, Austin Spence, Julie Kramer, Jeffrey Kramer and JordanKramer.

Jewell Maxine Foster

Services for Jewell Maxine Foster, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m.today, June 7, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burialin the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Foster, 76, died June 5, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 27, 1930, to JohnButler Smith and Mattie O. Walker Smith.

She was a seamstress with Stahl Urban Company. She was a memberof Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Smith Foster, of Brookhaven; hersons, Wayne Foster and wife Suanne, Roger Foster and wife Liz, andJason Foster, all of Brookhaven; her sisters, Johnnie Carlisle, ofNew Orleans, La., and Wessie Newell, of Brookhaven; and her sixgrandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Peter Michael Gomez

Services for Peter Michael Gomez, of Slidell, La., are 10 a.m.Thursday, June 8, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in BenSalem Cemetery in Caseyville.

Visitation is today from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Gomez, 43, died June 4, 2006, at his residence. He was bornon May 4, 1963, to Peter D. Gomez and Earline Coleman Gomez.

He was a former offshore fitness instructor.

His mother preceded him in death.

Survivors are his father, Peter D. Gomez, of Slidell; his son,Jonah Gomez, of Slidell; his daughter, Kailyn Gomez, of Slidell;his sister, Mary Helen Zarate, of Mesquite, Texas; his two nieces,three great-nieces and three great-nephews, all of Mesquite.

Richard ‘Rock’ May

Services for Richard “Rock” May, of Chicago, Ill., formerly ofBogue Chitto, are 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Williams Mortuary withburial in Topisaw-Mars Hill Cemetery in Ruth.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. May, 54, died May 29, 2006, in Chicago. He was born in BogueChitto on April 18, 1952, to Sammie L. May and Lillie ToliverMay.

He was disabled. He was a graduate of Eva Harris HighSchool.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his sisters, Doris Charlesten, of New Orleans,La., Bessie Evans and husband Willie, of Brookhaven, Effie Pooleand husband Joe, of Brookhaven, Stella May, of Dallas, Texas,Amanda May, of Brookhaven, Elizabeth May Fortenberry, of Arkansas,and Elise May, of Houston, Texas; his brothers, James Earle May, ofHouston, Derrick May, of Brookhaven, Darrick May, of Hazlehurst,Michael May, of Brookhaven, T.L.
