Services for Gus Laird, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today, July 3,at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Brookhaven with burial in thechurch cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Laird, 86, died July 1, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on July 18, 1919, to Victor Laird and MollyLofton Laird.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church ofChrist.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Jack,Doc, Ben, Hugh, George, Hiram and Brady Laird; and his sisters,Vera Smith, Ruth Day and Winnie Laird.

Survivors are his wife, Marie Smith Laird; his stepdaughter,Brenda Case and husband Steve; his grandchildren, Blake Case andwife Elaine, and Neil Case and wife Jennifer; and a number ofnieces and nephews.
