Services for Bertie Mae Britt, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.Thursday, July 6, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMacedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Britt, 99, died July 4, 2006, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born on May 19, 1907, to George Britt and Mary Ann Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch. She was a very loving and caring person to her family, andwill be missed dearly.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Memphis,Anderson, Frank and Loyd Britt; and her sisters, Georgia Britt,Lela Allen, Lillian Smith, Letha Durr and Ada Case.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and great-niecesand great-nephews.

Hugh T. ‘Buddy’ Carithers

Services for Hugh T. “Buddy” Carithers, of Brookhaven, were 11a.m. today, July 5, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMission Hill Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mr. Carithers, 78, died July 1, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on Aug. 6, 1927, to Hugh Henry Carithers and Viola LindseyCarithers.

He was a welder and was retired from Ingalls Shipyard. He was anArmy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Easthaven BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, TerryCarithers; and his brother, William Carithers.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Christine Carithers, of Brookhaven;his sons, Jimmy Dale Carithers and wife Angela, of Brookhaven, andJerry Glynn Carithers and wife Stephanie, of McCall Creek; hisdaughter, Terry Black, of Arkansas; his brother, Albert Carithers,of Brookhaven; his sisters, Marlene Payne, of West Virginia, OnitaMcCharge, of Madison, Dorothy Lawson, of Arkansas, and MarthaRussell, of Texas; and his grandchildren, Matthew Touchstone,Tiffany Carithers, Jacob Carithers and Caleb Carithers.

Lottie Mae Lyons

Services for Lottie Mae Lyons, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Friday,July 7, at Center Street Church of Christ in Brookhaven with burialin Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Miss Lyons, 51, died July 2, 2006, at Greenwood Leflore Hospitalin Greenwood. She was born on Dec. 15 1954, to Versie Lyons andLillie Mae Lyons.

She was disabled. She was a member of Center Street Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sisters, Virgie MaeLyons, Mary Lyons, Lula Mae Lyons and Zatie Mae Lyons; herbrothers, Jessie Lyons and Gene Lyons.

Survivors are her son, Robert Lyons, of Brookhaven; her sisters,Jessie Lee Washington, Ollie Mae Lyons and Mary Lee Robertson, allof Brookhaven; and her brothers, Willie Lyons and Jerry Lee Lyons,both of Brookhaven.

Sarah Douglas Womack

Services for Sarah Douglas Womack, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, July 6, at New Sight Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Womack, 95, died July 3, 2006, at Silver Cross Home. Shewas born on March 5, 1911, to E.P. Douglas and Lillie MayDouglas.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Sight BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ColonWomack; her daughter, Faye Britt; her sisters, Kate Davis and NellStrube; and her brother, Willie Douglas.

Survivors are her sons, Johnny Womack, of Brookhaven, and Bob”Buddy” Womack, of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Gussie Ashley, ofBrookhaven; her nine grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; hernine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
