With a little creativity and time, an eye-catching store frontdisplay can make a difference in customer traffic and revenue.
“The proper laying out of merchandise is not only an art, but ascience,” said Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of CommerceExecutive Director Cliff Brumfield. “It attracts buyers andprovides a pleasant shopping experience.”
A small business seminar on how to design an attractive storefront will be presented Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in thedowntown Trustmark Bank’s second floor board room. The seminar, lead by John Brandon from the Mississippi Development Authority, will address the importance of creative store fronts andmerchandise displays.
“Oftentimes, retailers will set up business and leave the layoutas is from day one, never refreshing them from season to season andcustomers feel they are not seeing enough change for them to comeback resulting in lower sales for the retailer,” Brumfield said.”From personal retail experience, changing up your store layout andmaking sure the goods are arranged and attractive as possible tocustomers is of great importance for sales.”
The seminar will be presented at no cost to the community and isopen to existing retailers, businesses and those considering goinginto business.
“Thanks to Mississippi Development Authority, Small BusinessDevelopment, the chamber and Trustmark Bank, this seminar will beat no cost,” Brumfield said. “This type of education would normallybe expensive when provided at trade shows.”
