Services for Franklin “Frank” Edwin Collins Jr., of Brandon,were 11 a.m. today, July 25, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapelin Brandon. A graveside service will be held at Rosehill Cemeteryin Brookhaven at 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Collins, 72, died July 23, 2006, at Rankin Medical Center inBrandon.
He was a native of Lincoln County, then moved to Jackson. He hadbeen a resident of Brandon since 1974. He was a member ofCrossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon, where he attendedthe Friendship Sunday School Class for many years. He was agraduate of Brookhaven High School and Mississippi StateUniversity, where he earned his degree in accounting. He was anavid Mississippi State Football fan. He loved to travel, especiallyby train. He retired in 1996 from his job as an accountant with theMississippi Department of Transportation.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dr. Franklin EdwinCollins and Myrtis Wheeless Collins.
Survivors are his wife, Carol Cook Collins, of Brandon; hissister, Mary Evelyn Peek, of Houston, Texas; his nephews, Emory”Buster” A. Peek III and Stanley Franklin Peek; his niece, AnnePeek Todd; and his five great-nieces and nephews.
