A Brookhaven man is listed in critical condition at a Jacksonhospital today following an early morning crash on Highway 84.

Dennis L. Nations, 47, was traveling west on Highway 84 nearInterstate 55 when he lost control of his 1988 Chevrolet pickup,said Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol Sgt. Rusty Boyd, publicrelations officer.

“He ran off the right side of the roadway and sideswiped theguardrail of the Bogue Chitto bridge,” Boyd said. “He then crossedboth lanes of traffic and struck the guardrail on the south side,causing the vehicle to flip and ejecting the driver.”

Nations was transported by ambulance to King’s Daughters MedicalCenter and then transported by helicopter to University ofMississippi Medical Center.

“He had some severe injuries,” Boyd said.
