Services for Linda Fay Thompson Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at New Sight Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Smith, 62, died Aug. 28, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on Feb. 16, 1944, to Walter Eugene Thompson and Minnie IreneThompson.

She was employed for 18 years with Homelite EngineeringDepartment. She was a member of New Sight Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, WalterGlynn Thompson; and her sister, Sarah Gene Brown.

Survivors are her husband, Troy Melvin “Coot” Smith, ofBrookhaven; her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Dean and AmandaSmith, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Joyce Honea, of Madison, LouiseHux and Cheryl Rabalais, both of Brookhaven; her granddaughters,Elizebeth Nicole Smith and Candace Coley, of Brookhaven; and hergreat-granddaughter, Skyler Coley, of Brookhaven.
