Services for Percy E. Rauls Jr., of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Sept. 9, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Rauls, 67, died Sept. 4, 2006, at University Medical Center inJackson. He was born on Nov. 29, 1938, to Percy E. Rauls Sr., andQueen Esther Tyler Rauls.
He was a retired educator. He was a graduate of Friendship Schoolin Brookhaven and attended Coahoma Junior College, where he playedfootball. He was a graduate of Mississippi Industrial in Itta Bena,and received his master’s degree at Mississippi College. He taughtschool in Liberty, Prentiss and Eva Harris High School inBrookhaven. He coached basketball in Liberty. He served asprincipal in Centreville, and as superintendent in Wilkinson CountySchools. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church, where he servedas deacon.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Willie D.Rauls; and his sister, Eva Gordon.
Survivors are his wife, Jeanette Andrews Rauls, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Zabrina Green, of Charlotte, N.C., and ValerieWashington, of Byram; his brother, Bobby Rauls, of Ft. Lauderdale,Fla.; his sisters, Jackie German, of Brookhaven, Rosie Rauls, ofLos Angeles, Calif., and Christine Rauls, of Richmond, Calif.; andhis two grandchildren.
