The Bogue Chitto Bobcats won a pair of junior high footballgames from the host Loyd Star Hornets Tuesday night in Possum Bowlaction.

In the eighth grade game, the Bobcats rallied to pull out a42-32 win. Seventh grade action saw Bogue Chitto come back to beatLoyd Star 16-14 on the final play of the game.

Bogue Chitto entertains Salem Tuesday night. The seventh gradekicks off at 6 p.m. followed by the eighth grade at 7.

Bogue Chitto 42, Loyd Star 32

Brandon Kent caught a 17-yard pass from Michael Martin for thefirst Bobcat TD. The Bobcats failed on the two-pointconversion.

Kolby Johnson scored on 6-yard TD in the second quarter to cutthe Loyd Star lead to 20-12.

At halftime, Loyd Star led Bogue Chitto 26-12. The Bobcatsfailed on the two-point conversion.

Bogue Chitto’s Kevin Brothern ran for a 2-yard touchdown in thethird quarter to cut the deficit to 26-18. The Bobcats failed onthe two-point conversion.

Martin scored on 15-yard touchdown run and Johnson ran for twopoint conversion cut the the Hornets lead to 32-26.

Bobcat Brandon Kent caught a 44-yard pass from Martin to tie thegame at 32-all. Johnson ran the two-point conversion to give BogueChitto a 34-32 lead over Loyd Star with 40 seconds on theclock.

Colten McClendon of Bogue Chitto intercepted a Loyd Star passand returned it for a 55-yard touchdown, giving the Bobcats a 40-32lead. Johnson scored the two-point conversion for the 42-32victory.

The eighth grade Bobcats are 2-1.

Wingback Marquis Hayes scored 4 Loyd Star touchdowns. PierreThomas ran for the other TD.

Bogue Chitto 16, Loyd Star 14

Scoring the first Bogue Chitto touchdown in the seventh gradegame was Kevin Brothern on a 47-yard run. Austin Jackson ran the 2point conversion to cut the deficit to 14-8.

On the last play of the game, Jackson exploded for a 64 -yardrun for the TD with no time left to tie it up. Brothern got two-point conversion to win.

Wingback Marquis Sims scored both Hornet touchdowns. Loyd Starresumes play Tuesday at Enterprise.

The Bogue Chitto seventh grade team is 2-0 on the season.
