Services for Leonard Malcolm King, of Summit, are 2 p.m. Sunday,Sept. 17, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel in McComb with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. E.L. Stewart will officiate.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,and will continue on Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Mr. King, 74, died Sept. 11, 2006, at his residence. He was bornin the West Lincoln community of Lincoln County on July 21, 1932,to Russell King and Malinda Laird Mahaffey.

He was a retired oilfield consultant, working all over the worldas King’s Drilling consultant. He was known as “Catfish” to thosewith whom he worked in the industry. He was a member of the Baptistfaith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife of 57years, Natalie M. King; his daughter, Donna Marie King; his sister,Ruby Waters, and his half-brother, Dutch Mahaffey.

Survivors are his sons, Leonard W. King and Robert M. King, bothof Summit, William Kerry King and wife Vicky, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Sharon A. Baumgartner and husband Gary, of Jackson; hisbrother, Fred Mahaffey, of Brookhaven; his half-sisters, AliceMerle Bennett, of Baton Rouge and Myra Jean Davis, of Jackson; andhis five grandchildren, Kerry King, of McComb, Ira and Nicole King,both of Brookhaven, Alexandra L. King and Leonard Christopher King,both of Scotland.
