Into the loving arms of Jesus, our Savior, Marjorie Anne Smith,70, stepped into eternity on Sept. 14, 2006.

Services for Mrs. Smith, of Gonzales, La., formerly ofBrookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Brookhaven FuneralHome with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeralhome.

Preceding her in death were her parents, the Rev. Jim Evans andAddie Evans; her sisters, Eva Nee Breland and husband Tony Breland,and Irma Lee Smith and husband Fred O. Smith.

She was the beloved wife of Lamar Smith, of Gonzales. Othersurvivors are Mark Smith and wife Rachelle, of Gonzales; herdaughter, Sonya Lanclos and husband Randy, of Gonzales; herbrother, Gayle Evans, of Brookhaven; her granddaughter, Allison;her grandsons, Aaron, Marcus, Evan, Tyler and Landon; hergreat-nephew, Chance Evans and Jamie Rye, who were like sons toher. She is survived by numerous other nieces, nephews and cousinswho were dear to her.

Pallbearers are Chance Evans, Kristopher Johnston, Jamie Rye,Gerald Breland Harold Smith and Mike Breland.
