Services for Marlene Hoggatt, of Flowood, are 10 a.m. Tuesday,Sept. 19, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hoggatt, 62, died Sept. 16, 2006, at the University MedicalCenter in Jackson. She was born on Dec. 11, 1943, to John MartinClements and Mildred East Clements.

She was retired from her work as a retail shoe store manager.She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Picayune.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Fred C.Hoggatt Jr., and her sister, Patsy N. Blair.

Survivors are her son, Johnny Hoggatt, of Flowood; her daughter,Ginger H. Sheriff, of Picayune; and her grandchildren, AmberHoggatt and Matt Hoggatt, of Gulfport, Jennifer Sheriff, SarahSheriff and D’Shea Sheriff, all of Picayune.

Thelma Thurstine Smith

Services for Thelma Thurstine Smith, of Brookhaven, were today,Sept. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, 92, died Sept. 16, 2006, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born on March 29, 1914, to Harvey P. Posey and Pearlie NationsPosey.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, VirgilDurr and Clemmie Smith; her sons, Thomas Gartman and L.M. GartmanJr.; her daughter, Peggy White; her brother, Hollis Posey; and hersister, Irma Cotten.

Survivors are her sister, Janis Owens and husband Harold, ofOwensville, Ind.; her son-in-law, Jerry White, of Brookhaven; herdaughter-in-law, Pat Gartman, of Brookhaven; her six grandchildren;six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; hernumerous nieces and nephews, and numerous stepchildren,step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren andstep-great-great-grandchildren.

Effie Mae Woodall

Services for Effie Mae Woodall, of Summit, are 11 a.m. Tuesday,Sept. 19, at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church in Summit withburial in Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery in Summit. HartmanFuneral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Tuesday from 10 until the time of the service at the church.

Mrs. Woodall, 87, died Sept. 17, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn in Franklin County on April 19, 1919, to Jack and ArieFreeman.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Johnston Chapel UnitedMethodist Church and the Ruby Perrott Sunday School Class.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, J.C.Woodall; her grandchildren, Bruce Lacoste, Brett Lacoste and TinaOliver; and her great-grandchild, Kevin Lacoste.

Survivors are her sons, Harold Woodall and wife Diane, of BatonRouge, La., and Clifton Woodall and wife Cindy, of Summit; herdaughters, Marie Lacoste and husband Seymour, of Kiln, MargieElizabeth Martin, and Mavis Peavey and husband Joe, all of BatonRouge; her 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Christopher Woodall, Johnathan Woodall, DarrylLacoste, Steven Lacoste, John Berry, Ricky Martin, Eddie Martin,Joel Martin and Damon Westbrook.

Honorary pallbearers are Edgar Leon and Connie Stoddard.
