Justine Summers Boyd

Services for Justine Summers Boyd, of Jayess, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Oct. 5, at Powells Grove Pentecostal Church in Jayesswith burial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 6 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Boyd, 96, died Oct. 2, 2006, in Jennings, La. She was bornon June 19, 1910, to Willie Summers and Lucy Summers Summers.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Powells GrovePentecostal Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ExcellBoyd; her brothers, Percy, Clifton and James, and her sister,Jessie Mae Bond.

Survivors are her sons, John Douglas Boyd and Jerome Boyd, bothof Jayess; her daughters, Bonnie Gunnell, of Jennings, and BettyHilbun, of Gulfport; her brother, Henry Summers, of Arizona, andOudia Alexander, of Mobile; and 10 grandchildren, 21great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtle E. Hodges

Myrtle E. Hodges, 89, died Sept. 30, 2006, in South Portland,Maine.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul M. Hodges, a nativeof Brookhaven. They met 64 years ago, and moved the family toMaine.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church inPortland.

Survivors are her sons, Richard P. Hodges of Waterford, Conn.,and Robert F. Hodges, of South Portland; her daughter, ElizabethHodges Maskasky, of Brookhaven; and her five grandchildren and fourgreat-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hodges will be buried at Forrest Hill Cemetery in SouthPortland.
