Susie Johnson

Services for Susie Johnson, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. Thursday,Oct. 12, at St. James Baptist Church in Oma with burial in thechurch cemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Johnson, 87, died Oct. 5, 2006, at Lawrence County NursingCenter in Monticello. She was born on Jan. 23, 1919, to OsborneTaylor and Bertha Mae May Taylor.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. James BaptistChurch in Oma.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ChesterJohnson; her brothers, Elzie, Mitchell, Dasker and Moses Lee; hersisters, Rosie, Jeanette, Cora Mae and Laura Lee.

Survivors are her son, Sammie Johnson, of Avon Park, Fla.; herbrothers, Obra Taylor and ALC Taylor, both of Monticello; hersister, Genora Hall, of Monticello; six grandchildren, onegreat-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild
