Doris McCrary Burril

Services for Doris McCrary Burril, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family FuneralService is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burril, 79, died Oct. 22, 2006, in Natchez. She was born onDec. 15, 1926, to Dempsey McCrary Sr., and Beatrice McCrary.

She attended Tulane School of Nursing. She was retired from theBank of Forest. She was a mentor for the Big A program, a GirlScout and a Brownie leader, and a member of the Eastern Star. Shewas a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Her husband, William H. “Buster” Burril passed away three monthsprior to her death. They celebrated their 60th anniversary on July8, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; herson-in-law, Danny Allen; and her brother-in-law, Bill “Red”Hughes.

Survivors are her daughters, Judy Allen, of Brookhaven, SuziSmith and husband Ken, of Natchez, Patti Johnson and husband Alan,of West Point, and Bobbye Carpenter and husband Jim, of Brandon;her brother, Dempsey McCrary Jr., and wife Gloria, of Gulfport; hersister, Patricia “Tookie” Hughes, of Gulfport; her ninegrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

George E. Linton

Services for George E. Linton, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m.Sunday, Oct. 22, at Pearlhaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Linton, 58, died Oct. 20, 2006, at Gilmore Memorial Hospitalin Amory. He was born in Lincoln County on March 2, 1948, toClifton Linton and Ruth Leggett Linton Myers.

He attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Whitworth College.He was the retired owner of George’s Auto Parts. He was a member ofPearlhaven Baptist Church. He was a member of the National Guard.He was a man who loved his family and his church.

Preceding him in death were his father and his stepfather,Marvin Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Ethelene Linton, of Brookhaven; hismother, Ruth L. Myers, of Brookhaven; his sons, George Linton Jr.and wife Robyn, of Brookhaven, and Frank Linton and wife Paula, ofSmithdale; his daughter, Kim Linton Sipes and husband Chad, ofAmory; his brother, Howard Linton, of Brookhaven; and hisgrandchildren, Selena Linton, Hana Linton, Jacobe Sipes and LoganSipes.

Zachary Paul McLeod

Services for Zachary Paul McLeod, the infant son of HeatherMcLeod, of Monticello, are 11 a.m. today, Oct. 23, at St. LawrenceCatholic Church with burial in Robert’s Memorial Cemetery inJayess. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Baby McLeod, 7 months old, died Oct. 20, 2006, at ArkansasChildren’s Hospital. He was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 25,2006.

Survivors are his mother; his brother, Alex McLeod, ofMonticello; his grandfather, Jerry McLeod, of Jayess; hisgrandmother, Ivy McLeod, of Monticello; his aunts, Courtney Bourn,of Brookhaven, and Sara McLeod and Virginia McLeod, both ofMonticello; his uncle, Grant McLeod, of Monticello; and his cousin,T.J. Bourn, of Brookhaven.

Mary McKee Ratcliff

Services for Mary McKee Ratcliff, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Moriah Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Ratcliff, 84, died Oct. 19, 2006, at Silver Cross Home. Shewas born in Texas on Aug. 13, 1922, to Edgar V. McKee and ElaBurney McKee.

She was retired, having been self-employed as a seamstress. Shewas a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RufusLamar Ratcliff; her son, Jimmy McKee; her brothers, Bill McKee,Johnnie McKee and Curtis McKee; and her sisters, Edna Davis, EulaEtta Horton and Marjorie Walley.

Survivors are her daughter, Judy M. Watkins and husband Steve,of Taylorsville; her brother, Charles W. McKee, of Brookhaven, andAlfred McKee, of Pearl; her sisters, Ruth M. Crosby and Linda Lee,both of Bogue Chitto; her daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Craig, ofCharlotte, N.C.; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey McKee and MistyRichardson, both of North Carolina, Christopher Arender, of Pearl,Calvin Arender and Chad Arender, both of Laurel, and KimberlyCruise, of Richland; and her eight great-grandchildren.
