George E. Linton

Services for George E. Linton, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m.Sunday, Oct. 22, at Pearlhaven Baptist Church with burial in RamahBaptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Linton, 58, died Oct. 20, 2006, at Gilmore Memorial Hospitalin Amory. He was born in Lincoln County on March 3, 2006, toClifton Linton and Ruth Lessett Linton Myers.

He was the retired owner of George’s Auto Parts. He was a memberof Pearlhaven Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the NationalGuard. He was also a man who loved his family and his church. Heattended Copiah Lincoln Community College and WhitworthCollege.

Preceding him in death were his father and his step father,Marvin Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Ethelene Linton, of Brookhaven; hismother, Ruth L. Myers, of Brookhaven; his sons, George Linton Jr.and his wife, Robyn, of Brookhaven, and Frank Linton and his wife,Paula, of Smithdale; his daughter, Kim Linton Sipes and herhusband, Chad, of Amory; his brother, Howard Linton, of Brookhaven;and his grandchildren, Selena Linton, Hana Linton, Jacobe Sipes andLogan Sipes.

Jewell ‘Judy’ E. Phillips

Services for Jewell “Judy” E. Phillips, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Monday, Oct. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inNew Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips, 78, died Oct. 21, 2006, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born on Jan. 18, 1928, to James Owen Ellzeyand Ida Case Ellzey.

She was retired from the Lincoln County School System. She was amember of New Hope Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Revis I.Phillips; her sisters, Winnie E. Cade, Myrtle E. Vaugh, Mazie E.Cochran and Jean Mosely.

Survivors are her son, Gary B. Phillips, of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Pamela Smith and her husband, Ronald, of Jackson, andDena Phillips, of Brookhaven; and her grandson, Chris Smith, ofHattiesburg.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Todd Smith, James Smith, ShaneSmith, Tim Laird and Scottie Laird.

Memorials may be made to Mississippi Diabetes Foundation,Epilepsy Foundation, American Lung Association or American CancerAssociation.
