WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s institutional logohas been given a makeover, school officials announcedWednesday.
In a change that is described as evolutionary rather thanrevolutionary, the new logo has been designed to offer a morecontemporary image without forsaking the college’s history, saidPresident Dr. Howell Garner.
“For a number of years, the college had used the same graphicrepresentation, but that rendering no longer seemed adequate,” hesaid.
Graphic designer Jeremy Schrader of Insomnia Networks wasretained through the recommendation of Mississippi-based HaloBusiness Advisors, to conceptualize the new logo.
A broad-based college committee was formed to study and advisethe college’s public relations and marketing efforts. The J. M.Ewing Administration Building was the inspiration for the newlogo.
“We wanted something contemporary yet, at the same time, an iconthat speaks to the venerability of the institution. I thinkJeremy’s design achieves both,” Garner said.
Garner said the new logo has been implemented in several areason campus already.
