Phillip Michael Benezue

Memorial services for Phillip Michael Benezue, a resident ofCountrybrook Living Center, are 1:30 p.m. today, Dec. 11, atCountrybrook Living Center with burial in Bellander Cemetery inOcean Springs. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Benezue, 61, died Dec. 5, 2006. He was born to PhillipJoseph Benezue and Helen Jeanette Benezue.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brothers,Ronald Joseph Benezue Sr. and Robert Ellis Benezue.

He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Monell Brown

Services for Monell Brown, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Tuesday,Dec. 12, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in Mt.Olive M.B. Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Brown, 79, died Dec. 4, 2006, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. She was born on Nov. 10, 1927, to Percy Washington andAudrey Smith.

She was a graduate of Alexander High School and was retired fromthe Brookhaven School System. She was a member of St. Paul M.B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sons, John E. Brownand Percy L. Brown; her great-grandson, James Washington; and hersister, Edith Redd.

Survivors are her husband, John Brown, of Brookhaven; herstepmother, Mary Washington, of Brookhaven; her sons, John D.Brown, of Antioch, Calif., Thomas E. Brown, of Vista, Calif.,Calvin R. Brown, of Oakland, Calif., and Jamie Brown and RandyBrown, both of Brookhaven; her daughters, Lanell Washington, ofBeaverton, Ore., and Mary E. Brown, of Portland, Ore.; her brother,Percy B. Washington, of Muskegon, Mich.; her sisters, Ella V.Sanders, of Muskegon, Juanita McGrew, of Chicago, Ill., MaxineBrown, of Hattiesburg, Erma Dorsey, of Hazlehurst, and InezQuarles, Nita Knight, Geneva McGregory and Alice Barnes, all ofBrookhaven; her 46 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 10great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, otherrelatives and friends.

Arthur Lee Lewis

Services for Arthur Lee Lewis, of Sontag, formerly of Natchez,are 2 p.m. today, Dec. 11, at Laird Funeral Home Union StreetChapel in Natchez with burial in Greenlawn Memorial ParkCemetery.

Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until service time at thefuneral home.

Mr. Lewis, 72, was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Sontag, to George Lewisand Hermie Martin Lewis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked in the oil fieldand as a logger. He enjoyed retirement, doing the things he lovedto do, like gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a member of theFirst United Pentecostal Church of Natchez.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, HermieLewis.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Barbara Lee Lewis, ofSontag; his daughter, Victoria Oswald, of Plano, Texas; hisgrandson, Matthew McCaa, of Fayette, Ala.; his three brothers, J.G.”Bubbie” Lewis, Claude Lewis, and Norman Lewis, all of Wesson; andhis two sisters, Blanche Smith, of Wesson and Margie “Tapper”Curtis, of Natchez, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
