Craig, Davis, Blackmon head All-Region 6-2A Football Team

St. Andrew’s running back Bradford Blackmon was selected theMost Valuable Player on the 2006 All-Region 6-2A Football team.Blackmon helped St. Andrew’s to the South State finals.

Offensive Player of the Year honors went to Micah Davis ofWesson and Conway Craig of St. Andrew’s. Davis completed 46 of 91passes for 218 yards and 5 TDs. He rushed the football 82 times for724 yards and 9 TDs. His total offensive yardage is 1,056 yards. Atlinebacker, Davis made 38 tackles.

Named Defensive Player of the Year is John Gilmore of Hinds AHS.Joshua King of Hinds AHS received Special Teams Player of the Yearhonors.

The Kicker of the Year is Jeff Lowery of St. Andrew’s.

St. Andrew’s received the Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Joining Davis on the First Team from Wesson are fullback RoyWilliams, linebacker Beau Wilson, tailback Otho Smith and linemenTimothy “Bubba” Thompson, John Knight and Will Turnbo. Making theSecond Team were free safety Jamar Sims, split end Trey Fischer,linebacker Terry Henson, wingback Ralph Brothern, tight end JosephDecker and strong safety Daniel Watson.

Wesson’s honorable mention players include linemen JonathanGrace and lineman Zach Williams, defensive end Matthew Cliburn andlineman Dominique Johnson.

Representing Loyd Star on the First Team are linebacker HunterSpeeg and quarterback Jared Rogers. Running backs Garry Johnson andDonald Shorter made the Second Team.
