Thibodeaux resigns head job at Loyd Star

Josh Thibodeaux has resigned his position of head football coachat Loyd Star. He announced his intentions during a Wednesday teammeeting.

Thibodeaux, 28, served two years as head coach at Loyd Star andcompiled a 4-14 record. The Hornets were 2-8 last season.

Thibodeaux, a Pike County native, was an assistant coach for twoyears at Loyd Star before his promotion. He is a Southern Missgraduate.

Last year the Hornets defeated West Lincoln and Enterprise. Theywere winless (0-5) in the Division 6-2A race.

Contacted Thursday morning, Loyd Star principal Wayne Rogerssaid he had not received a formal letter of resignation fromThibodeaux who teaches social studies at Loyd Star.

Rogers said he planned to advertise for the coaching vacancy. Hesaid Thibodeaux would remain on staff as a teacher and assistantcoach.

Thibodeaux was unavailable for comment at press time today.
