Hyman H. Luter Sr.

Services for Hyman H. Luter Sr., of Prairieville, La., are 2p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello withburial in Elliot Cemetery in Tylertown.

Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the serviceat the funeral home.

Mr. Luter, 78, died Jan. 30, 2007, at his residence. He was bornon Dec. 7, 1928, to Howard S. Luter and Ruby Magee Luter.

He was retired from Nichols Construction. He lived in Baker,La., for 32 years before moving to Prairieville six months ago.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his son, Ronnie C.Luter.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Ballard Luter, of Prairieville;his sons, Jewell Luter and Mark Luter, both of Prairieville, andHyman Luter, of Watson, La.; his daughters, Charlotte Hayward, ofPrairieville, and Natalie Hubbard, of Watson, La.; his sister,Edwina Thompson, of Foxworth; and his 13 grandchildren and 10great-grandchildren.

Allene Brister Martin

Services for Allene Brister Martin, of Brookhaven, were 10 a.m.Thursday, Feb. 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Jackson Street withburial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in BogueChitto.

Mrs. Martin, 83, died Jan. 30, 2007, at Beverly Healthcare -Brookhaven. She was born in Eupora on Nov. 14, 1923, to AtleePeeples and Era Tidwell Peeples. She had been a resident ofBrookhaven since 1942.

She was retired from her job as a secretary with the MississippiEmployment Security Commission in Jackson. She had also beenemployed with Johnston Lawnmower and Brookhaven Bank and Trust (nowTrustmark). She was a former member of the American Legion. She wasa member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, WinstonAtlee Peeples.

Survivors are her daughter, Gaye Laird, of Brookhaven; hergrandson, Charles Iain Mathes and wife Heather, of Brookhaven; andher great-grandchild, Lauren Haylie Mathes, of Brookhaven.

Beverly Ruth Montgomery

Services for Beverly Ruth Montgomery, of Bogue Chitto, are 11a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven withburial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home,and on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Montgomery, 68, died Jan. 30, 2007. She was born in Butler,Pa., on Oct. 4, 1938, to the Rev. Raymond Ralph LeViere and NaomiRuth Frick LeViere.

Mrs. Montgomery went to be with the Lord, peacefully, at theresidence of her daughter in Brookhaven after fighting her battlewith cancer. She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church, whereshe had been pianist for 17 years. She had served in many otherchurches over the years. She was a homemaker and had taught privatepiano lessons for many years in the Bogue Chitto area. She wasloved by everyone who met her because of her wonderful spirit andcontagious smile. Likewise she loved everyone she met and alwaysencouraged everyone. She deeply loved her husband and family andwas the light of their lives.

Preceding her in death were her father, the Rev. Raymond RalphLeViere and her grandson, Daniel Christopher Foster.

Survivors are her mother, Ruth LeViere, of Bogue Chitto; herhusband, N.B. Sonny Montgomery, of Bogue Chitto; her son, DavidJames Montgomery and wife Kathy, of Bogue Chitto; her daughters,Brenda Foster and husband Bruce, and Debra Lynn Smith and husbandStacy, all of Brookhaven; her brother, James LeViere and wife Sue,of Shepherd, Mich.; her grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Leah Byrd,Carrie Luster, Jonathan Smith, Matthew Foster, Michael Foster andAli Montgomery; and her great-grandchild, Braelynn Byrd.

Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Stewart

Services for Elizabeth “Libby” Stewart were Wednesday, Jan. 31,at Trinity Episcopal Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., in Crowley, La., was in chargeof arrangements.

Mrs. Stewart, 87, died Jan. 28, 2007, at the Southwind ofCrowley Nursing Home.

She was a native of Brookhaven, moving to Crowley in 1952. Sheattended Trinity Episcopal Church.

Survivors are her loving and devoted husband of 65 years,Charlie Stewart; her three sons, Chuck Stewart and wife Maureen, ofAltus, Okla.; Jimmy Stewart and wife, Linda, of Crowley; andRaymond Stewart and companion, Patricia Boulet, of Lake Charles,La.; and her three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to thecharity of their choice or to the Trinity Episcopal Church.

Ina Lou Dixon Wilson

Memorial services for Ina Lou Dixon Wilson, of Sontag, are 10a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello withburial at a later date.

Ms. Wilson, 56, died Jan. 27, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn on Aug. 21, 1950, to Clarence L. Dixon and Minnie Loe SmithBarron.

She was retired from the United States Navy. She was a member ofShiloh Baptist Church.

Her father preceded her in death.

Survivors are her mother, Minnie Loe Smith Barron, of Florence;her brother, Eddie Dixon, of Dallas, Texas; and her sisters, GenaMcNair, of Florence, and Linda Graves, of North Garden, Va.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church Youth Fund.
