James Arnold Carter

Services for James Arnold Carter, of Hermitage, Tenn., are 10a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Heritage Funeral Home. Bro. FrankMathews and Bro. Leon Champion will officiate. Graveside serviceswill be held on Friday, Feb. 16, at Topisaw Baptist Church Cemeteryin Brookhaven. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of localarrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday atHermitage Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter, 43, died Feb. 12, 2007. He graduated from highschool in Graceville, Fla., and went to junior college at Valenciain Orlando, Fla. He was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors are his parents, David and Polly Carter; hisgrandmother, Modena Williams; and his aunts, uncles andcousins.

Pallbearers are Gerald Wright, Robert Rosenblum, Wayne and ChrisCarter, and Dean Nunnely.

Charles Cason

Services for Charles Cason, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Friday,Feb. 16, at Kynett Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. R.E. Tyler FuneralHome is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 3 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home,with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Cason, 68, died Feb. 10, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on March 5, 1938, to Brady Cason and Ollie BellColeman.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy, and McLane Southern.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Blanche Thompson Cason, of Brookhaven;his daughter, April Lorell Cason Fairman, of Brookhaven; hissisters, Barbara Washington, Vickie Redd, Patricia Littleton andPam Fields, all of Brookhaven; and his three grandchildren.

Andrew Ray

Services for Andrew Ray, of Oakland, Calif., were held recently.C.P. Bannon Funeral Home in Oakland was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Ray, 82, died Feb. 6, 2007. He was born in Brookhaven onOct. 9, 1924, to Rufus and Rosanna Ray.

He moved to California in 1950. He married Cleo Ray in 1961 andthey were married until her death in 1991. He loved his family,friends and community very much. His hobbies were fishing, huntingand sports. He was a proud, brave veteran who loved his country andfellow man. He loved the Lord and confessed Christ as his Savior atan early age.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; his daughter,Yvonne Ray; his son, Thomas Earl Ray; his brothers, Wesley Ray andEzell Ray; his sisters, Hilda Allen, Ollie Mae McCoy, Perline Kellyand Pinchenellar Stevenson.

Survivors are his sons, Andrew Ray and Johnny Ray; hisdaughters, Willie Mae Garner and Kizzy Ray; his brother, TarzonRay, of Lansing, Mich.; his niece, Annie Henderson, of Brookhaven;his nephews, William McCoy Jr., C.S. McCoy and Eddie McCoy, all ofBrookhaven; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, otherrelatives and friends.
