Services for Jessie David Massey, of Jackson, are 12:30 p.m.Saturday, Feb. 24, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on HighStreet in Jackson with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of theservice at the funeral home.

Mr. Massey, 81, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson.

He was born to the Scott County pioneering family of Ellis W.Massey and Jimmie Dee Pace Massey. Most of his adult life was spentin the automobile business. He was a life deacon of First BaptistChurch in Jackson and a longtime member of the Horace KerrExplorers Sunday School Class.

An avid golfer, he was a member of Colonial County Club, wherehe was a member of the Coots and Super Coots and a life member ofthe Mississippi Senior Golf Association.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his six siblings,Merle, Carmen, George, Emmitt, Clark, Julius and Ellis.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Jimmie Lois Stanley Massey;his children, Cathy Pace Jackson and husband Robert, of Downsville,La., and Jeff Davis Pace and wife LilAnn, of Brookhaven; hisgrandchildren, Justin Gordon, Houston Gordon, Davis Pace and JessePace; and his great-granddaughter, Brooke Gordon.

Pallbearers are Justin Gordon, Davis Pace, Robert Jackson,George Guffin, Paul Neilson and Woody Nance.

Honorary pallbearers are the Horace Kerr Explorers Sunday SchoolClass and Ray Ratliff.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Boy ScoutMinistries and Baptist Children’s Village.
