Co-Lin Wolfpack splits twinbill with Hinds

RAYMOND — The Co-Lin Wolfpack split a Friday doubleheader withthe Hinds Community College Eagles. They won the opener 11-9 inextra innings but lost the nightcap 3-1.
Co-Lin (8-3) hosts Baton Rouge Community College today for atwinbill, starting at 1 p.m. on Sullivan Field.

Co-Lin plated 2 runs in the eighth inning to secure the victory.The Wolves and Eagles combined for 26 hits in a pitcher’snightmare. Brandon Chretien started on the mound for Co-Lin.
Ryan Hoben picked up the win in relief after catching the firstsix innings.
“Ryan pitched well and gave us a chance to win,” said Co-Linhead coach Keith Case.
David New hit a 2-run homer for Co-Lin in the second inning.Steven Gauthe had 3 hits, including a triple. Collecting 2 hitsapiece were Timmy Foster and Paul Davis.

Winning pitcher Chris Ferriss gave up 5 hits and 1 run, strikingout 2 batters and walking 1.
In the third, Co-Lin got a double from Jordan Toney. He stolethird base and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ben Davis.
Hinds plated 3 runs in the second, fueled by an error and a hitbatsman. Corey Stevens delivered a 2-run double for the Eagles.Eric Douglas scored Stevens for 3-0 lead.
“Kyle pitched extremely well,” said Case. Fairley gave up 5hits, fanned 5 and walked 2.
Jordan Toney and David New both doubled and singled for Co-Lin.Dane Orders singled twice.
