Robert ‘Bob’ Homer Purvis Jr.
Services for Robert “Bob” Homer Purvis Jr, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Stringer Family Chapel in Hazlehurstwith burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Purvis, 79, died March 5, 2007, at VA Medical Center inJackson.
He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was aretired press operator from a Gulf Coast newspaper. He was a memberof the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Louise Brewer Purvis; hisparents and a brother.
Survivors are his sons, John Purvis, of D’Iberville, and DonaldPurvis of Owingsville, Ky.; his daughters, Linda Williams, ofBrookhaven, and Libby Carol Wheeler, of Mobile, Ala.; and hisbrothers, Doyle Wayne Purvis and Ernest Purvis, both of Vicksburg,Elton Purvis, of Sumter, S.C., and Calvin Purvis, of Oregon.

Visitation is Thursday, March 8, 2007, from 9 until 10:45 a.m.at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Homes inBiloxi. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. fora Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral,Marion Chapel, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in SouthernMemorial Park.
Mrs. St. Amant, 96, died March 3, 2007.
She was a longtime resident of Biloxi and a member of NativityB.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where she served with the Altar Society.She was also a member of the Biloxi Lions Club, Biloxi Yacht Club,Metropolitan Dinner Club LesMasque Carnival Krewe, Gulf Coast OperaClub, Gulf Coast Symphony and Biloxi Little Theater. She was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.A. “Dolph” St.Amant; her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include a stepson, John St. Amant, of Oregon; a numberof grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephewsand great-nieces and great-nephews.
