Services for James Baker Rogers, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.Saturday, March 31, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North JacksonStreet with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation is Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers, 96, died March 29, 2007, at Haven Hall Health CareCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on June 17, 1910, to WilliamAlonzo Rogers and Nora Wright Rogers.
He was a dairy and cattle farmer. He attended Mallalieu ChurchSchool and graduated from Fair Oaks Springs School. He alsoattended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College from 1936 until 1938, wherehe was a left tackle on the Wolves football team that won thechampionship. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife to whom he wasmarried in 1947, Pearlie Mae Terry Ward Rogers; and his twostepsons, Dr. Hugh Ward and Lyndolph Ward.
Survivors are his daughter, Theresia Dyess and husband Jim, ofBrookhaven; his daughters-in-law, Joe Ann Ward, of Jackson, andBobbie Ward, of Little Rock, Ark.; and his grandchildren, Matt andMark Dyess.
