BC girls whip Cathedral

BOGUE CHITTO — The Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats swept a Division7-1A fastpitch softball doubleheader from the Natchez CathedralLady Green Wave Tuesday night.

Bogue Chitto won the opener 12-0 and the finale 15-0.

Thursday, Bogue Chitto visits Lincoln County rival West Lincolnfor another division test. The junior varsity game begins at 5 p.m.followed by the varsity at 6.

“We are in the playoffs now,” said Bogue Chitto coach ScottLeggett. “I am proud of my seniors. We did what we had to do to winthese 2 games. We still have to get ready for West Lincoln. That isstill a big game for us.”

Kelli Howard was the winning pitcher in both games. Howardfanned 3 and walked 0 in the first game and came back to strike out1 batter and walk 1.

Ginny Daggett struck out 2 and walked 4 for the loss in thefirst game. Working in relief was Julie Stevens with 1 strikeoutand 8 walks. Mae Durkin took the loss in the second game, fanning 1and walking 1.

Chelsey Miller directed Bogue Chitto with 2 singles.
