Services for Robert Lee Banks Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Friday, April 13, at St. James M.B. Church in Brookhaven withburial in Carver Heights Cemetery in Brookhaven. Williams Mortuaryis in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Banks, 61, died April 6, 2007, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on July 23, 1945, toRobert Lee Banks Sr. and Halsie Watts.
He was a 1963 graduate of Alexander High School and attendedPrentiss Institute and Jackson State University. He was a veteranof the United States Marine Corps. He was the owner of WattsUpholstery Shop and a member of St. James M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his father and his stepfather, JoeWillie Watts.
Survivors are his wife, Masene Banks, of Brookhaven; his mother,Halsie Watts, of Brookhaven; his sons, Darico Bell and wifeBelinda, of Vancouver, Wash., and Robert Banks III and wifePatricia, of Jackson; his daughter, Lynette Banks, of Jackson; hisgreat-aunt, Velma Robinson, of Brookhaven; his 10 grandchildren andone great-grandchild; and many cousins and other relatives.
