Shaw, Thomas named MVPs on Coaches All-County Team

Guard Aaron Shaw of West Lincoln and forward Kimberlee Thomas ofBogue Chitto are the Most Valuable Players on the Coaches 2007All-Lincoln County Basketball Team. The dream team was selected bycounty coaches.

Shaw, a 5-foot-10 senior, averaged 12.3 points, 5.5 assists, 3.3rebounds and 2.9 steals per game, leading Coach Lane Young’s WestLincoln Bears to a 21-11 record and the Class 1A state playoffs.Joining him on the squad are West Lincoln teammates Jeremy Byrd andBradleigh Rice.

Representing Loyd Star are Matthew Henderson, Ron Jones andRickey Barnes. From Bogue Chitto are Mario Addison and KeyounaPerkins. Enterprise is represented by Jamie Smith and MattTaylor.

Thomas, a 5-9 senior, averaged 15.9 points, 12.3 rebounds and3.6 steals per game. A Copiah-Lincoln Community College scholarshipsignee, Thomas led Coach Christi Terrell’s Lady ‘Cats to a 25-5record and the Class 1A state playoffs.

Joining Thomas on the team from Bogue Chitto are Shasta Porterand Chelsey Miller.

Representing Loyd Star are Shannon Chester, Haley Sones andDakota Brooks. From Enterprise are Lindsey Everett and AmandaBurke.

West Lincoln is represented by Julie Case and Hannah Knouse.
