Services for Byron Tillmon “B. T.” Bishop Jr., of Meadville, are11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Churchwith burial in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home inMeadville is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andfrom 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at the church in Meadville.

Mr. Bishop, 75, died June 1, 2007, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Aug. 10, 1931, to Byron Tillmon Bishop Sr. andLouisa Sullivan Bishop.

He was a retired law enforcement officer with the MississippiDepartment of Transportation. He was an elder at Middleton CreekPrimitive Baptist Church.

He was a Army veteran of World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother; and onenephew.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Jean Temple Bishop, of Meadville;his sons, Gene Alex Bishop and wife, Elizabeth, of Clinton, andByron Tillmon Bishop III and wife, Rose Mary, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Dina Cothren and husband, Mitch, and Lawanna Cothren andhusband, Gary, all of Meadville; his sisters, Tommie Lou Wilkinsonand Mary Katherine Brewer, of McComb; his sister-in-law, BarbaraBishop, of Gillsburg; 13 grandchildren; and 15great-grandchildren.
