NATCHEZ — Catcher Kolby Byrd homered twice and doubled inleading Brookhaven Academy’s summer baseball team to a 13-3Saturday night win over Franklin County in the championship finalsof the Cathedral Tournament at Liberty Park. Jameson Wright pitchedthe victory.

BA also beat Woodville and Huntington, La., as Johnathan Whiteand Tyler Parvin pitched the respective wins.

A double and an inside-the-park homer by second baseman CoreyDickerson and a double by designated hitter Caleb Williams helpedpace BA’s win over Franklin.

BA will host a 6-team tournament Friday and Saturday. Joiningthe hosts are teams from Natchez Trinity, Cathedral, Woodville,South Pike and Liberty. Action begins at 2 p.m. Friday, with thefirst of four games.
