Brookhaven man killed in Wednesday accident

A Brookhaven man was killed Wednesday night on Highway 583, saidLincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris.
McMorris said 24-year-old Edward Harold King, known to hisfriends as Ed, was pronounced dead on those scene after beingejected from his 1990 GMC truck around 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Hewas believed to be on his way home from work, McMorris said.
“He ran off the east shoulder of Highway 583, oversteered andcollided with a culvert. The truck overturned several times and thedriver was ejected,” said Mississippi Highway Patrol Master Sgt.Albert Johnson.
The accident occurred on Highway 583, 4.2 miles south of Highway84. Johnson said it did not appear that King was wearing hisseatbelt.
McMorris said King, a welder, was unmarried and had no children.He lived on Highway 84.
Riverwood Family Funeral Service is handling the localarrangements, which are not yet complete.
