Rebels clinch Dixie Youth crown

BUDE – The FC Rebels wrapped up the Dixie Youth Major LeagueRegular season championship Saturday night despite losing to the FCBig Dogs 5-3.

The Big Dogs paced by a three-run homer from Bernard Selmanspoiled the Rebels championship celebration with a come from behindvictory, despite some crafty pitching from FC Rebels starter HobyMullins.

The Rebels, finished with a league best record of 13-3 overall.They finished ahead of the Big Dogs, FC Braves, and BFC. Coachingthe Rebels to the regular season championship was Tony Mullins,Brad Mullins, and Michael Coleman.

FC BIG DOGS 9, FC BRAVES 7

Hunter Rushing belted a home run and added a double for threeRBI to give the Big Dogs a 9-5 lead they never surrendered. TylerRushing had a single and a double, while Micah Morrison and HunterThornton collected a single apiece.

On the mound, Trey Bailey picked up the victory for the BigDogs, striking out nine.

Derek Brumfield was saddled with the loss for the FC Braves,despite striking four out.

At the plate, the Braves were led by Ricky Wilson with a doubleand two singles. Holden McMullin added a double, while KadeClanton, Chase Buckels, and Patrick Bullen added a single each.

FC Rebels 10, BFC 1

Trent Auld struck out eight and the Rebels cruised to a bigvictory. Zayne Mullins led the Rebels at the plate with twosingles. Jay Davis also reached base safely.

Billy Farrell absorbed the loss for BFC, while Connor Quinnprovided two singles.

FC Rebels 13, BFC 6

In game two, Auld again collected the win striking out fivebatters. Mullins had a double and a single.

Sam Bivens suffered the loss for BFC, despite striking sixout.
